Palin film

Hi,
New to the forum and a great admirer of Jerome. Am considering buying Michael Palin's TV film of Three Men and I wonder if anyone has any views on it. I'm a bit nervous as only an accurate interpretation would be acceptable to me.
Thanks
Brendan

Hi Brendan,
Do you mean Tom Stoppard's 1975 TV adaptation starring Palin? If so, it's the only version ever filmed which captures the spirit accurately (and uses much Jerome dialogue). It's also well acted and reasonably funny - but do not expect an exact replica of the book or you will be disappointed. Personaly, I much enjoyed it when I revisited it a few months ago. It's a million miles from the ghastly Jimmy Edwards et al version.
