Hello,

I am a member of a group that was founded by members of the "Playgoers' Club". Since joining I have developed an interest in the history of the Club and in the life of Carl Hentschel in particular. If anyone has information relating to Mr. Hentschel I would be very grateful.

Kind regards,

Adrian

I own a copy of a book entitled THE PLAYGOERS' CLUB 1884 TO 1905  ITS HISTORY AND MEMORIES BY B.W. FINDON. Published 1905.
Findon was listed as the Club's Vice-President and Carl Hentschel as its President for the year 1897-1898.
The history includes details of a schism in the club c1900 resulting in Hentschel's resignation.
Adrian: is this History in the Club's archives?

Hi Tony,

I bought a copy of the same book on ebay about 6 months ago. There isn't too much mention of the schism in our own archives. I will investigate meeting minutes further to see if C.H attended many meetings of our group after the split.

Hi there,

I may be able to help as Carl was my great uncle!
